Applying to GW Community School
GWCS has rolling admission, and we accept high school students (grades 7-12) throughout the year, depending on current class sizes. We do not host an Open House for prospective families; instead we schedule personal interviews with our Director. To schedule a prospective interview, contact us using the this online form.
Four easy steps to becoming a GWCS Coyote:
STEP 1 - INTERVIEW
Prospective interviews include student and parent(s) and last approximately one hour. You will meet with the Director, Alexa Warden. This meeting will provide you with an opportunity to ask questions, learn more about our school, visit classrooms, interact with current students and teachers and really get a feel for GWCS.
STEP 2 - APPLICATION
After the prospective interview, Ms. Warden will provide you with a packet of information which includes a paper application. Interested families submit an application complete with writing sample, photo, and application fee.
Admissions Forms (you will receive a complete packet, including these forms, following your interview):
STEP 3 - NOTIFICATION
Once all application materials have been received and reviewed, applicants will be notified whether the student has been accepted or declined via mail within two to three weeks.
STEP 4 - ENROLLMENT
Acceptance packets are typically mailed but occasionally they are emailed when time is of the essence. A signed contract and payment of the registration fee within three weeks from the date of acceptance will reserve a space for the incoming student. In addition to an acceptance letter, the acceptance packet will include:
2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR
Enrollment Contract (provided upon acceptance)
Registration Fee (payable by check or credit card)
Emergency Form (PDF) -or- Emergency Form (doc)
